PLEASE SLOW DOWN

when driving to the W. Windsor Town Forest parking lot at the end of Coaching Lane.  It's a narrow road with poor visibilty and many pedestrians.  Go VERY slow from the STAB sign to the parking lot, you're sharing this with hikers and bikers.  Our access to this land depends on our being good neighbors!  Thanks.

Trail Conditions:

Top of the World is open!  Landowner has spent $6000 on trail repair, tread lightly.

Sport Trails Mountainside is open and ready to ride!  Please let us know if there is a fallen tree or any other trail issue using the forum or info@stabvt.org.  Thanks!

The following trails White, Black and Green Rocks were logged.  They  were cleaned up.  Black Rocks still needs to be found in places, but you can get there from here....

Its early June and we're already up to 52 dues paying members!  Thank you for your support and hopefully more will renew or become members soon.  For those of you who joined in the past month your cards and stickers are in the mail.  Sorry for the delay.

Pirate Treasure found at Ascutney Mountainside

Ascutney Connector Trail

Jim Lyall, Patrick Kell (Executive Director, VMBA) and Erik Schutz walked with 4 representatives of the VT State Forest Parks and Recreation last week. We walked a section of woods that potentially could be beginner and intermediate trail system across the street from the campground entrance of Ascutney State Park. We also walked a proposed trail route that would connect the Ascutney State Park with STAB's Mountainside Trail system. This trail would also connect/pass through the hiking trails of the Windsor Trail and Brownsville Trail on its way from the campground.

At this point the State Park Reps will meet at the end of the summer to discuss their findings and decide on moving forward with this project. We are optimistic that this trail project will be approved based on our discussions and hike with the folks from the State. If you have any questions about this trail project please post them on the forum.

Thanks and Stay Tuned
